Hello and welcome to Three-Dot Whizz!
I’m Dessy, an English tutor by day and a blogger by night. And I wish someday I’ll speak Spanish!
English is not my first language. But it had me at “hello”.
I had one-hour class every week back when I was at school. But the teachers didn’t speak English. Schools just wanted me to pass the exam. Or get a certificate.
Hours and hours in class, but I didn’t improve.
Tedious grammar drilling? Not a big deal.
Finishing worksheets? Try me.
But I couldn’t use any of them. The vocabulary, the grammar, lots of expressions. I kept using dictionary when I was reading. I couldn’t understand a single movie without subtitle.
I didn’t know what I was trying to tell when I write something.
And I regret every single hour that had passed without trying to improve my English.
I don’t want you to be the old me. So, I fix me.
I have been trying to find the best way to improve my English. And along with that process, I’ve documented the things that work well for me.
And I wrote them down so they will work for you.
However, like every other improvement, it takes time. You might want to give up the halfway through.
But just bear with me. Hard work pays off. It really does.
So, care to join me?
